CUA Nambour back in business following car crash
15 July 2008
CUA Nambour will re-open its doors on Monday 21 July for the first time since a car crashed through the front window of the branch in early May, injuring a staff member and two bystanders.
The fully refurbished branch will be a welcome change for the better, showcasing CUA’s new look.
CUA Managing Director Mr Graham Olrich said the decision had been made to close the branch until measures were taken to ensure the safety of CUA staff and members.
“CUA is committed to providing a safe environment and we were not willing to risk anyone’s safety” he said.
“Centre management has now provided protective bollards and steel post reinforced sheeting to the external wall which will prevent a reoccurrence of the accident which happened earlier this year.”
Mr Olrich said the necessary repairs following the accident provided an opportunity to give the entire branch a facelift.
“Since CUA recently launched our new logo we thought it was the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the Nambour branch’s refurbishment and redesign the configuration of the branch as well as fit it out with our new look logo and branding.
“This is a process that all CUA branches around Australia will undergo within the next year.”
Mr Olrich expressed a special thank you to all CUA members for their patience while waiting for the branch to re-open.
“Our loyal members have been very understanding during this period of unexpected closure and I thank each and every one of them for their support.
“Nambour branch manager Debra Liriges and staff members Angela and Jo are enthusiastic about seeing all of their members again and continuing to assist with their financial needs.”
CUA Nambour is located at Shop 15 Nambour Plaza, Corner of Anna and Howard Streets.
Opening hours are Monday to Thursday 9.00 am - 4.30 pm and Friday 9.00 am - 5.00 pm.
