Credit Unions offer a style of service that few can match.  The reason for this is the unique ownership structure of Credit unions, as credit unions are mutual organisations and are owned by the members.   We exist solely for the benefit of our members; not to make profits for a group of shareholders, as you would find with the banks.

Credit unions have become even stronger, with the establishment of Australian Prudential Regulation Authority ( APRA ) in 1998. Credit unions operate under the same stringent prudential standards and regulatory controls as the banks.  La Trobe Country Credit Co-operative Limited is an Approved Deposit Taking Institution (ADI) the same as banks.
