Important Message Regarding Phishing

In the past week we have been observing a significant increase in the amount of Phishing emails targeting local finacial institutions.  Whislt we have seen incidents and attacks focused on the Big 4 banks before, it would appear that the phishers are now targeting other banking providers.

Typically the emails have been quite professional and appearing to come from the financial institutions own email servers and have included the logos of the financial institution and had email headings such as; your account has been accessed from an unauthorised user, your account will be suspened and reactivate you CUA account.

Emails purporting to be from CUA, Cuscal and Abacus asking for your user name, password, credit card and PIN details are fraudulent.  CUA, Abacus, Cuscal and LCC have not sent any emails to you.  Under no circumstance are you to respond to these.  You should delete these immediately and inform us.

Further to this we have more information on our website warning you of phishing and what steps can be taken to aviod this.  For further information please visit www.scamwatch.com.au

If you have any further concerns please do not hesitate to contact any of our branches.
